Communication officer and humanitarian by day, passionate creative by night. Studied in Italy, backpacked through Southeast Asia, and lived in a container in South Sudan. Writing has been my greatest love, ever since I was old enough to hold a pen.
I have a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in History, and I completed a minor in Journalism & New Media. After working as a Web Content Manager for a Dutch NGO I moved to Italy to pursue a second master in Human Rights and Conflict Management. This programme led me to South Sudan, where I worked as a Public Information Officer for the United Nations (UN) peacekeeping mission (UNMISS). Currently I work as a Communication Officer in the Netherlands. See for a detailed resume my LinkedIn profile.
A little bit more about me
I love traveling. After living abroad in Italy and South Sudan, I backpacked through Southeast Asia. My favourite destination is Rome, a city I lived in for five months and visited many, many times after. That’s why I am working as a volunteer for the Dutch magazine Roma Aeterna.
I am devoted to books, reading anything from old Roman classics to self-improvement books. Lately I have discovered podcasts, which I listen to during my morning run. In the evenings you can find me at a creative writing class, the gym or in the cinema. When I stay at home I snuggle with my cat Winnie or give in to my stationery and craft supply-addiction.
